My grandfather was thrown into the waters from the middle of the bridge around 9,00 a.m.. He could not swim, and the river carried him  downstream  for 250 metres, where two fishermen, close to the place, Doria Luigi and Landra Giorgio, tried to help him without success. He was recovered when he was already dead, and brought to the river bank to the place where the Michelotti canal flowed into the river PO, not far away from the Casotto di Superga  where he lived with his wife and his little daughter (my mother). The senior detective  Scarpina from the Police Station in  Borgo Po district  and the local doctor  Dott. Heer confirmed the time and the mode of his death. The offical permission  to bring the corpse to the city morgue situated in the Medical Institutes of Valentino,  was granted at 10,00 a.m.
