Gastropoda, Stylommatophora, Zonitidae,
Oxychilus (Morlina) glaber (Rossmässler, 1835) - This species substitute O. draparnaudi at high quotas while at lower altitude, the two species sometimes cohabit. These Mollusca live under stones or in little ravines, but, if exist a cave in the zone, it's into it that these troglophile snails concentrate because here can find food and dampness. In the Bossea Cave it live near the lower entrances in the last years, in collaboration with Elena Gavetti of the Regional Natural Science Museum of Turin, the author found several shells or living specimens of this species in some caves on the territory of the central-southern Piemonte, at altitude from 500 to 1500 m above the sea level. Its morphology differt from O. draparnaudi for the smaller navel and the narrower last turn of the shell. The diameter of the adult shell is at most 14 mm.Other images:
