This study is based mainly on information picked by the government corporate body, military and civil hospitals and from free working professionals in the dental sector from February 1996 to April 1996 with revisions and adjournments in winter 1999. The methods used for gather information were interviews and visits, consultation of Ghana Dental Council and University of Accra library. These approaches have allowed finding out in an environment of collaboration the reality of Ghana's dental sector. Other information has been collected by contacting International Agencies like UNDP, USAID and consulting electronic data banks (on the Internet) of organization that are involved in the cooperation with developing countries. Meetings and interviews with dental technicians involved in public and private sector; part of which deriving from different formation schools while the others have not ever received specific official formation. Meetings and interviews with dentists; during meetings the majority of operators declared that they are favorable to the opening of a school/ laboratory for dental technicians punctuate the formation need in this field with a good possibility of employment offered by this profession in the future. Visits at dental materials stores in the capital city Accra with the intent of precise comparisons about origin, cost and, quality of used dental materials. Exploiting these approaches and elaborating all the information has determined the measure in which Ghanaian Dental Services answers to the population's demands.
