The use of the voice for a police officer can be, in particular and delicate situations, more effective than whichever firearm. Here why the oral direct and decided approach training with the target is particularly cured. In the SWAT a specialistic team of negotiators exists who establish the contacts with targets, but all the agents must be in a position to using the voice in order to give fixed and clear orders to the suspiciones.

                 

Directives of  oral approach for high risk situations

Under arrest position

  
- Maintain the firearms crews turned towards floor  to form an angle of 45° and with the finger on the trigger when the situation does not appear critical. 
- Use short words and commandos. 
- Always identify itself when the action is made in civilian clothes or the visibility  is insufficient. 
- Repeat the words or the commands more than one times and articulate these well with clear voice. 
- Never use phrases of the type " I want you to... ","I need you to... ","I'd like you to..." but use an active and not passive tone.

       

- Use single commandos and one minium-series of commandos and not talk at length. 
- Not use insulting phrases, blasphemies, or offenses
to ethnic character, they could turn out istigative rather than to dissuade.
- If it is possible give the commands from " a covered " place or from the disarmed side of the suspicion and in knelt down position.

    

When proceed to the immobilization of the subject on the floor 

Suspect under arrest

  
- The subject opposes resistance to the arrest or assaults the agents. 
- High Propability that the subject opposes resistance. 
- Previous cases of  resistance to the arrest by the subject. 
- In case of violent crime store clerk or danger of self-destruction.
