Login Mode

Start without Account

After the install, at the first Maxthon start you will see this dialog. You can choose to close it, and start using Maxthon immediately as a normal browser, in Shared Mode (without Account). Please note that in this mode many useful online services freely provided by Maxthon will be unavailable. And all your data (Customizations, Skins, Favorites, Browsing History, Typed URLs, Saved Passwords, Saved Searches, etc...) will be shared with other users of your computer.

Start with Personal Account

Using the Personal Mode (with Account), all your personal data will be encrypted and kept private, and available after log in at Maxthon start. Moreover, using the Personal Mode and the Maxthon Online Services your data will be available from any location connected to the Internet. For instance, you could work at home using the Favorites saved on your office computer, and vice versa. And, in case of accidental loss of data (due to hardware/software crashes, bugs, viruses, etc...) you will be able to quickly restore Maxthon, importing your data from the server. Note: For further privacy safeguard, we suggest to leave unchecked the Remember me and the Auto Login checkboxes.
In this way the User authentication will be required at every Maxthon start.

How To Create a New Maxthon User Account

To login in Maxthon in Personal Mode (with account) you need to register a User Account in Maxthon Passport.
To do this, click the Register link. Will open a Maxthon Passport webpage with this form, to fill in with your data:

Email: This email address will be used as username for log in Maxthon, and in all its related online services. Password: Is reccomended to use a strong password, including capitalizations and numbers. The Weak-Average-Strong field rate in real time the password security level, as it's typed. Confirm Password: Re-type your password Nickname: Choose a Maxthon Username, that will be used in all the online services related to the Maxthon Passport system. Copy in the box the Code Verification (if not clearly readable, change it by clicking Refresh image) and check the box to accept the Maxthon License Agreement. Click the Register button to start the Registration Task.

Lost Password Recovery

If you forget your Maxthon login password, a recovery procedure is available to reset.
To do this, click the Password Recovery link on the login dialog.
Will open a Maxthon Passport webpage with this form:

Please insert your Maxthon User email in the Account Email box, and press the Send Reset Email button. An email with the reset password code will be sent to your email address. Follow the instructions to reset your password. Note: Due to security reasons, and to avoid abuses, this email can be sent once every 6 hours only. If was set in your Maxthon User Profile, you can choose to receive the email at your backup email address checking the box.
