COMPRESSION SET

The "Compression Set" is the residual permanent deformation in a sample of elastomer deformed by compression in certain deformation conditions, time, temperature and environment. The. C.S. expresses the percentages of the initial deformation, and inversely it is in proportion to the seal's capacity to maintain the pre-load installation over a long period of time. Therefore the C.S. must be as low as possible if the O-Ring is to ensure a tight seal for a long period, even when there are temperature and pressure variations. It is important to remember that, due to the transformation tchniques, the C.S. improves as the O-Ring section increases. We provide supplies along with the C.S: certificate from our laboratory upon request.
