Communication study programmes at the universities differ from business schools and technical schools in one important aspect; TIME. Your studies will last at least five years. But this does not mean a waste of time. At the end of your studies you will have a broad background of theoretical knowledge.

So do not expect a practical approach to communication at this level although RUC offers workshops of very short duration which give you an idea of the media you want to concentrate on.

A whole other matter is the IT-University of Copenhagen. First of all, you have to have a bachelor degree to get in. Any type of bachelor degree is accepted. They work in groups like they do at RUC but the courses focus entirely on the IT field. So do not expect to work with print media.

At Aarhus University they have a more traditional approach to communications studies. And if you want to be a journalist Aarhus is the place to go. But remember, they do not work in groups!

If you want more information, you only have to look to your left. You can navigate to the official site of the universities or to the student view page where you can find comments about the universities from an unofficial point of view.
