STORIA 

La USS Saratoga (nome d'identificazione CV-60), appartenente alla classe Forrestal, è stata una delle prime superportaerei della US Navy e la sesta nave dedicata alla battaglia di Saratoga della rivoluzione americana.

Questa nave è entrata più volte in azione: dislocata nel Mediterraneo, fu impiegata in Vietnam, ove fu decorata per le imprese dei suoi piloti. nel 1986 dei suoi aerei contribuirono al bombardamento della Libia e nel 1990 partecipò all'operazione Desert Storm.
