SEX PISTOLS Punk Il 30 Marzo 1976 al 100 Club fanno la prima apparizione ufficiale i Sex Pistols. Il gruppo messo insieme dal pigmalione Malcom McLaren mette in mostra immediatamente i propri connotati: musica semplice, rumorosa e suonata male; un atteggiamento nichilista strafottente e provocatorio, soprattutto verso la parte benpensante del Regno Unito. Nonostante le critiche dei giornali e delle autorità, la EMI fiuta l'affare e fa firmare loro un contratto eccezionale. E' la EMI a stampare il loro primo storico singolo "Anarchy in the UK" che diventerà il vero inno del movimento punk. Fatto fuori Glen Matlock per Sid Vicious, i Sex Pistols incidono "God Save The Queen"; nonostante siano banditi da tutte le radio il singolo conquista subito i primi posti nelle classifiche di vendita; |

stessa sorte poco dopo per il terzo singolo "Pretty Vacant". Il loro unico album "Never Mind The Bollocks", viene stampato dalla Virgin nel 1977. All'inizio del 78 il gruppo si disintegra in fretta. Sid Vicious muore di overdose, mentre John Lydon formerà i PIL 30th March 1976 at 100 Club: the first band's gig. The group put together by Malcom McLaren shows immediately its particoular signs: easy music, noisy and bad played; a nihilist arrogant and provocative attitude, against the well thinking side of the United Kingdom. In spite of criticism by newspapers and by authorities, the EMI feels the business and it makes a great deal to them. The EMI releases the historical single "Anarchy in the UK", that will become the song of the punk movement. After the leaving of Glen Matlock and the arriving of Sid Vicious the Sex Pistols record "God Save The Queen"; the band is censored by radios but the record arrives the first places of charts; same destiny for the third single "Pretty Vacant". Their only album "Never Mind The Bollocks", is recorded by Virgin in 1977. At the beginning 0f 1978 the band split up soon. Sid Vicious is killed by an overdose, while John Lydon will put on PIL |
