Terminata la favola Sex Pistols, nel 1978 John Lydon forma i Public image Ltd. Il loro singolo di debutto "Public Image" entra dritto nella Top Ten inglese. La loro proposta risulta però molto più commerciale e tranquilla rispetto ai Sex Pistols.

After the split up of Sex Pistols, in 1978 John Lydon put on the Public Image Ltd. Their debut single "Public Image" enters immediately in the English Top Ten. But their sound is more quite and commercial than Sex Pistols' sound.
