la seconda isola più grande dell'arcipelago rappresenta una
valida alternativa a Koh Samui per chi desidera sfuggire alla folla e
soggiornare in un ambiente più tranquillo.
La sua spiaggia più popolare, ovvero Haat Rin, è resa celebre dal
"FULL MOON PARTY" la festa della luna
piena che si svolge ogni mese richiamando migliaia di giovani da tutto il
mondo, che ballano fino all'alba.
Koh Phanghan gode un clima caldo tutto l'anno.
Il periodo migliore di visitarla è da dicembre a marzo, ma anche da giugno
a settembre il tempo e' anche molto buono.
Il nome dell'isola è scritto spesso come ko pangan o pha ngan ed anche
come panghan. Koh significa isola...

Haad Thien, raggiungibile solo in barca. Suonavo al Party di venerdì sera.

Koh Phanghan is located
in the Gulf of Thailand, this is a tropical island and travel destination
for a holiday or a vacation.
The party begins at dusk, when the round yellow moon makes its appearance
over the white sand beach. In twilight, small tables are lined up on the
beach and thousands of lamps are lit. As the evening progresses the beach
explodes into a dancing frenzy as different m.c.'s take their turn on the
decks. There is something for everyone here, trance, techno, drum and bass,
commercial dance and reggae, no-one is disappointed. Jugglers and
fire-eaters entertain the crowds as the night goes on and with the
brilliant impromptu fireworks display, the party atmosphere is complete.
After a few hours it could be time to chill-out for a while, maybe grab a
drink or a bite to eat from one of the many beach traders and wade out or
sit down in the warm surf of the Gulf of Thailand, pure, pure heaven.
Revived and relaxed it's time to return to the main beach and get blown
into another dancing dimension, while all around people are doing the same,
there are no barriers here, no inhibitions, just people enjoying
themselves with one unified intention, to rejoice in the magic that is the
paradise of FULL MOON PARTY.
The Full Moon Party started back in the happy seventies with, well, some
folks partying in the beautiful beach of Had Rin, under the full moon,
with guitars, booze and some grass. For lodging they builded huts in the
beach. The Party went on and start to grow in Had Rin beach. Today, the
Full Moon Party attract thousands of young travelers every month and it is
world famous.
