But...who is Dixon Hill?

The sexiest alter-ego of Captain Jean-Luc Picard...
The holodeck version of the Dixon Hill mysteries is based on the short
stories and novels about the private detective, wrote by Tracy Torme and published
on Earth in the 1930s and 1940s.
Hill first appeared in the short story "The Big Goodbye," published in 1934.
It
was followed by a series of pulp novels, including The Long Dark Tunnel (1936)
and The Parrot's Claw (1940).
Captain Jean-Luc Picard,
of the Federation Starship Enterprise, enjoyed
assuming the Hill role
and spending time in the holosuite in a romantic
version of 1930s San Francisco.
