B: “No”A: “Credi davvero che a uno come me possa essere concesso il perdono?! Non immagini nemmeno quello che ho fatto! Ora vattene!!!”

A: “Non vale la pena di salvarmi, sono stato un uomo ignobile, tutto il mondo vuole la mia morte!”

B: “E non pensi a me?! Ti amo da morire, ho fatto di tutto per dimenticarti, ti ho anche ucciso e non è servito. Odio tutto questo, che sia impossibile dimenticarti e che tu abbia il potere di ferirmi così. So bene tutto quello che hai fatto, perché l’hai fatto anche a me! Oddio, vorrei desiderare la tua morte ma non posso, non ci riesco.”

A: “Buffy ti prego, solo per questa volta, lasciami essere forte……”

B: “La forza è nella lotta, che è dura, e molto dolorosa, e quotidiana, è questo il nostro compito e dobbiamo farlo insieme, ma se sei troppo vigliacco per reagire, allora brucia, se non sei ancora convinto di appartenere a questo mondo non ho più argomenti, ma non ti aspettare che io resti a guardare e neppure che io pianga la tua morte perché……”

A: “I left half the kids down there are already awake, lying in their beds, sneaking downstairs weiting for day”

B: “Angel please. I need you to get inside. There’s only a few minutes left”

A: “I know, I can smell the sunrise long before it comes”

B: “I don’t have time to explain this, you just have to trust me. That thinking was haunting you……”

A: “It wasn’t haunting me. It was showing me.

B: “Showing you?”

A: “What I am.”

B: “Were”

A: “And ever shall be. I wanted to know why I was back. Now I do.”

B: “You don’t know. Some great evil takes credit for bringing you back and you buy it? You just give up?”

A: “I can’t do it again, Buffy. I can’t become a killer.

B: “Then fight it”

A: “It’s too hard”

B: “Angel please you have to get inside”

A: “They told me to kill you”

B: “You were in the dream. They told me to lose my soul in you and become a monster again”

B: “I know that. What does it matter?”

A: “Because I wanted to!!! Because I want you so badly. I wanna take comfort in you. And I know it’ll cost me my soul and part of me doesn’t care. I’m weak. I’ve never been anything else. It’s not the demon in me that needs killing, Buffy. It’s the man.”

B: “You’re weak. Everybody is. Everybody fails. Maybe this evil did bring you back, but if it did It’s because it needs you. And that means that you can hurt it. Angel you have the power to do real good, to make amends. But if you die now, then all that you ever were was a monster. Angel please, the sun is coming up.”

A: “Just go”

B: “I won’t”

A: “Do you think this is simple? It’s a simply answer? You can never understand what I’ve done. Now, go.”

B: “You are not staying. I won’t let you”

A: “Leave! Am I a thing worth saving, huh? Am I a righteous man? The world wants me gone.”

B: “What about me? I love you so much. And I tried to make you go away. I killed you and it didn’t help. And I hate it. I hate that It’s so hard, and that you can hurt me so much. I know everything that you did because you did it to me. God, I wish that I wished you dead. I don’t. I can’t.

A: “Buffy please. Just this once, let me be strong.

B: “Strong is fighting. It’s hard and it’s painful and it’s every day. It’s what we have to do and we can do it together. But if you’r too much of a coward for that, then burn. If I can’t convince you that you belong in this world, then I don’t know what can. But do not expect me to watch, and don’t expect me to mourn for you, because……”

B: "Hai una faccia da qualcosa che non va"

A: "Dobbiamo parlare...ma non adesso, non qui"

B: "No. No se hai qualcosa da dire dillo. Angel basta con i misteri, mi spaventi"

A: "Pensavo al nostro futuro. E più ci penso più credo che il fatto di stare insieme non sia giusto nei tuoi confronti"

B: "E' per quello che ha detto il Sindaco? Voleva solo spaventarci"

A: "Aveva ragione"

B: "No. No, non è vero. E' il cattivo"

A: "Meriti qualcosa di meglio. Ti meriti qualcosa di più, non solo demoni e oscurità. Dovresti essere con qualcuno che ti possa portare alla luce. Qualcuno con cui poter fare l'amore"

B: "Non mi interessa"

A: "Ti interesserà. E avere dei figli..."

B: "Figli? Non ti sembra di bruciare le tappe? Non so badare a un pesciolino"

A: "Oggi, ma il tempo vola, non ne hai idea, Buffy. Presto vorrai queste cose, una vita normale"

B: "Non avrò mai una vita normale"

A: "Già, sarai sempre una cacciatrice. E' un motivo più per stare con un vero ragazzo e non con un fenomeno da circo. Non intendevo..."

B: "Devo andare"

A: "Mi dispiace, Buffy, sai quanto ti amo. Mi sembra di morire a dirtelo"

B: "Allora non dirmelo. Chi sei per dirmi cosa è meglio per me? Credi davvero che non ci abbia pensato?"

A: "Davvero? Razionalmente?"

B: "No, certo, sono solo una stupida ragazzina delle superiori!!!"

A: "Cerco di fare la cosa giusta. Cerco di pensare con la testa e non con il cuore."

B: "Cuore? Perchè, tu hai un cuore? Se non batte nemmeno!"

A: "Non farlo."

B: "Cosa? Non amarti?"

B: "Scusa, sai, non pensavo di poter scegliere. Non cambierò, non posso cambiare. Voglio passare il resto della mia vita con te"

A: "Me ne andrò. Dopo l'Ascensione. Quando sarà finita con il Sindaco e con Faith. Se saremo ancora vivi me ne andrò"

W: "Oh Buffy"

B: "I can't breathe, Will. I feel like I can breathe"

BUFFY: The funeral was ... (sighs) it was brutal, but it's tomorrow that I'm worried about.
ANGEL: What's tomorrow?
BUFFY: That's exactly what I don't know. Up until now, I ... I've had a road map. Things to do every minute, having to do with Mom.
ANGEL: Tomorrow the stuff of everyday living resumes.
BUFFY: And everybody expects me to know how to do it, because ... (sarcastically) I'm so strong.
ANGEL: You just need some time. I'm sure everybody understands that.
BUFFY: Time's not the issue. I can stick wood in vampires ... but Mom was the strong one in real life. She always knew how to make things better ... just what to say.
ANGEL: Yeah ... you'll find your way. I mean, not all at once, but...
BUFFY: (shakes her head) I don't know. I keep thinking about it ... when I found her. If I had just gotten there ten minutes earlier...
ANGEL: You said they told you it wouldn't have made a difference.
BUFFY: They said ... "probably" ... wouldn't have made a difference. The exact thing they said ... was "probably." I haven't told that to anyone.
ANGEL: Doesn't make it your fault. You couldn't have done anything different.
BUFFY: (annoyed sigh) I didn't even start CPR until they told me. I fell apart. That's how good I am at being a grownup.
ANGEL: Buffy...
BUFFY: And it'd be okay if it was just me I had to worry about. But Dawn...
ANGEL: Look, it's okay. I know you don't feel like it now, but you are strong, Buffy. You're gonna figure this out. And you have people to help you. You don't have to do this alone.
BUFFY: (looks at the sky) It's gonna be light soon.
ANGEL: I can stay in town as long as you want me.
BUFFY: How's forever? Does forever work for you?

She turns her head to look at Angel, sighs and sits up to look him in the face.

BUFFY: (apologetically) That's a bad idea. I'm seriously needy right now.
ANGEL: Let me worry about the neediness. I can handle it.

They look at each other, then Buffy leans in and kisses him. They kiss softly for a moment. Then it gets a little more heated and they pull away, both breathing harder.

BUFFY: (looks down) I told you. (Angel sighs) You better go.
ANGEL: (another sigh) I'm sorry.
BUFFY: (firmly) No. I'm so grateful that you came, Angel. I didn't think I was gonna be able to make it through the night.
ANGEL: (looks up at the sky) Well, we still have a few more minutes until I have to go.
BUFFY: Good.

She puts her head on his chest and leans against him. He puts his arm around her shoulders.
BUFFY: Good.
