The Conductor
A brief excerpt from his curriculum , updated on 28 / 7 / 2012
He was born in Naples , 1964 . At the age of nine , he was awarded the silver medal at a National Competition where he presented his own piano compositions . At the age of ten , he began his concert career that has kept him busy so far both in recitals and in concerts around the world . When he was only fifteen, he obtained his Qualifying Diploma as a Banda Maestro Conductor and Orchestrator and , at the same time, he attained the lower level of Composition at the Conservatory of Parma. He studied Choral Practice with Maestro Romano Gandolfi , and directed, both in Italy and abroad , many polyphonic choirs . He studied piano at the Conservatory of Parma with Roberto Stefanoni , Roberto Cappello and Giuseppe Massaglia and he graduated with honors at the Conservatory of Benevento , after only six years of study . He attended Piano Master Classes in Italy and France with Maestro Giuseppe Massaglia and Maestro Arturo Benedetti Michelangeli. He is a Piano Accompanist and Maestro for opera singers and repeatedly engaged in chamber ensembles. He regularly collaborates with artists of the Chorus of the Teatro dell'Opera and the National Academy of S. Cecilia of Rome. He is the Founder of the Multiethnic Polyphonic Choir of Rome with whom he performed to the presence of the President of the Republic , of His Holiness Pope Benedict the 16th and of the dignitaries of State . Moreover he is the Founder , the President , as well as the Artistic Director of the National Academy of Neapolitan Songs and Operetta, which is sponsored by M.I.U.R ( Ministry of Education , University and Research ) and has its headquarters in Rome . He was awarded the gold medal as a Conductor, winning the " Foyer des Artistes " in 1993 . He is the Artistic Director of several international Music festivals and of the International Piano Competition " Città di Anzio " , the Founder and Artistic Director of the International Opera Competition " Città di Sermoneta " , and a Professor at the Ministerial Courses of Didactic Differentiation for Montessori and Froebel’s methods . Considered by many the most Italian expert in the Strauss family repertoire , he is the Founder , President and Artistic Director of the New Italian Straussian Philharmonic , the StraussOperettEnsemble, the SmileQuartet and the LittleItaly Quartet ( the only one instrumental and vocal ensemble in Italy which has that aims to spread italian music in the world ; the repertoire includes Italian opera arias , the most famous folk songs and classical Neapolitan songs, revisited in jazz and " tribal " ) . With the Ministers of Education Fioroni and Gelmini, he leads his project of the Rhythmical-symphonic Youth Choir and Orchestra of the M.I.U.R ( which has now become " the National Rhythmical-symphonic Youth Choir and Orchestra " ) , made up of young between ten and twenty years from all districts of Rome. He is particularly skilled in applying computer science to Music and he has worked as co-arranger of international productions. He composed soundtracks for films, documentaries and plays. He has designed and implemented the following projects for the Ministry of Education , University and Research : - The Multiethnic Festival in Rome , in 2008 and 2009 ; - The Festival of Young Music in Rome , in 2010 and 2011 ; - Thirteen editions of the Various Arts Festival for young , " Noi..protagonisti ! " . He has recorded for PRODIT Discography . In his most recent performances he conducted both the Simphony Orchestra of Rome and Lazio in the execution of Mendelssohn's Symphony Nr. 4 and Beethoven's Symphony Nr. 1 , and the Concert for the Night of Museums in Rome ( May , 2009 ) , and he was on tour in the USA , Germany , Spain , France and Norway as a Concert Pianist and Maestro Accompanist of the three Italian Tenors. Recently the Song Ching Ling Foundation of Shanghaj entrusted him with the artistic coordination of the centre and southern Italy . Moreover , he has participated in the major national and international events with the National Rhythmical-symphonic Youth Choir and Orchestra and Multiethnic Polyphonic Choir of Rome ; at the International Festival of Arts in Tjianjin (China, July 2009) they were invited as the only Italian delegation and afterwards they were invited to participate , both in 2010 and 2011 (Piazza del Popolo , Rome) , in the Chinese New Year . Even more recently, he conducted the Opening Concert of the New Italian Straussian Philharmonic in Rome to the presence of the formerly Undersecretary to the Prime Minister, Gianni Letta (who is the Honorary President of the New Italian Straussian Philharmonic ) , of the Ambassador of Austria and several other authorities ( Honorary Members of the same Institution ) . To his credit, there are more than 1000 concerts , recordings , artistical , musical and theatrical directions and compositions for choir , orchestra and piano as well as performances of piano entertainment during conventions at the leading hotels in the world ( Sheraton , Hilton Cavalieri , St. Regis Hotel , Grand Hotel Excelsior ) . Moreover , his past experiences see him as a theater director , playwright , songwriter , organizer and artistic director of events , national and international competitions , Music festivals and cultural exchanges with foreign countries ( USA and China) , as well as in operations management and personnel management .
