And in this film, it's more the way he delivers his lines than the lines he's actually saying, that makes the scenes funny. Of course, one has to make somewhat more of an effort to suspend one's disbelief for this film to work entirely

[See DVD section or for more details] Written By: [ ] Die Hard was a watershed in action movies and a well deserved success for the filmmakers and Bruce Willis. For a start, the script, co-written by Steven DeSouza, was salvaged from his script for the abandoned sequel to Arnie's jungle film. Rae Dawn Chong's character was also to be in the film, although now her character would've completed law school and would've been a lawyer as opposed to a flight attendant. Arnold was only interested in making the sequel to "The Terminator" and subsequently declined participation in the film. However producers found the idea too original and decided to make an altogether new action film! [Thanks to Andy Douglass] At one point, the film was allegedly conceived as a possible vehicle for Charles Bronson! But he was under contract to Cannon films and would have been unable to be in the picture

PS-B RATING - Imagine Of Mice and Men if George and Lenny were both boobs, The Odd Couple if Felix and Oscar were Norwegian, or Dumb and Dumber without the scatological humor, and you'll most likely conjure up Elling , one of the overlooked nominees for Best Foreign Language Film in the most recent Oscar race (all the attention went to and eventual winner ). There aren't too many films that can be as simultaneously funny, offbeat and heartwarming (without a thick shmear of the goo, at least), but Elling manages to do all three quite well, making it one of the year's most enjoyable releases

He has been so bad in many recent films, e.g., MADE IN HEAVEN, that they made my worst of the year list.
