Finding Nemo - The Making
. LU: Somehow we ended up being like this little nimble fish that managed to swim through the waters of the summer and getting past all these other movies that were coming out. It was all about how we could best create the illusion of being under water with the fish. When I started to write I knew nothing about fish. I knew that I needed her to help the father get all the way through the ocean and then I read a fact somewhere that Goldfish only have a memory of three seconds. Question: So after working on the film for so long do you now appeal to Bruce’s ethos that fish are friends and not food? LU: Well we spent the entire movie wondering if they would serve sushi at our wrap party and they did! We still eat fish. AS: I have no problem eating them; I am just not much of a fisherman, so as long as I don’t have to catch them… OK, so it looks like the kind of place everyone would want to work, with people whizzing to and from their plush, open-plan offices on push-bikes ..

The Machine Elves . Here, lads, spare a little fish - take the edge off of this one's growl." Danny passed me one of the fish frying over the fire. The fish where we lived were crawling in chemicals. "What the hell." I wolfed down the fish. "I wonder if the fish are asleep, " said Fang. A fish jumped out of the water and sailed by us. "Follow that fish!" Fang was out of there and heading for the sea like a thing possessed. twenty Hours later we were sat down on a grassy dune in the late afternoon sun, drying out, stokingly thrilled to be together, and just as thrilled to be watching the seagulls soar over the ocean as they held up-draughts on the lookout for fish

. Based on the stories I'd heard, I chose more than half-a-dozen points at which to dive: Fish Hotel, Lyford Cay, and White Hole, near Nassau; Lost Blue Hole, about an hour by boat from Nassau; Dogleg Reef, an hour by boat from Marathon, in the Florida Keys; the "Atlantis Wall, " near Bimini; and Sunken Train, near Eluthera. We found clear evidence of deviations at four locations: Fish Hotel, Lyford Cay, White Hole, near Nassau; and Dogleg Reef, near Marathon, in South Florida. Some of the more interesting aspects of this area include: great ocean trenches of up to seven miles in depth, violent storms and hurricanes, unpredictable tidal like waves on calm seas generated by underground earthquakes, curious false bottom readings, and glowing streaks of luminescent fish or minerals. Along the perimeter divers may see large schools of reef fish, including Chromis, Angelfish, and Sergeant Majors, each circling around each coral head. Its mass floating on the surface attracts a wide variety of pelagic marine life such as Dolphinfish, jacks, Rainbow Runner, and Silky Sharks

The Red Hill Story
. It is commonlyknown as the Age of Fishes . The Devonian Age saw a rapiddiversification of fishes. It was dominated by reef builders and then thefirst jawed fish followed by the lobe-finned fish and eventually the firsttetrapods. The transition between fish and tetrapods has been an important focusof study in paleontology. In the 1950's, Alfred Sherwood Romer suggestedthat tetrapods evolved from lobe-finned fishes that, during drought, wouldscramble over land to find new bodies of water. Fossils of lobe-finned fish showed earlyindications of fins turning into limbs. Ichthyostega and Acanthostega (Eastern Greenland) were half fish, half tetrapod. Other important finds at Red Hill include Hyneria Lindae , a huge (13 ft.) predatory fish, placoderms, ray-finned fishes, sharks, anda host of Devonian plants and terrestrial invertebrates (spiders and scorpions)

The Zen philosopher: A review article on Dogen scholarship in English
. For example, as Dogen points out in the "Genjokoan(s)" fascicle, the ocean is a different thing-as-experienced to a fish swimming in it, to a deva looking at it from heaven and to a man in a boat. Can we talk at all about that which is independent of situation or perspective? For the fish, the deva, and the person, is there anything in common about ocean-as-experienced? Yes, for all of them, it is simply "the presencing" (genjo(t))
