:o Hi Guys, I have reformated and reninstalled windows 98se. Everything fine.except I did not have the original boot disk and soooo my modem driver is not on there. Right now my modem is in com1. and will not get a dial tone.

I have a US Robotics USR5699B 56k modem. they do provide drivers for other modems but not mine. Can i go somewhere else

If it’s 3COM/USRobotics then buy a good robotics modem. Modem drivers used to not be a problem until the speeds of modern modems got faster. The most extreme of this was when 56k was invented by US Robotics which is known as X2.
