(May 8) XINHUA - A nine-meter-long dead shark, the largest of its kind ever found in China, was recently spotted at the Yantian Harbor in Shenzhen, which borders Hong Kong. When the three-ton shark was dragged into Yantian Harbor by a cargo ship registered in Panama on Friday, it was already dead. A post-mortem examination showed it was a whale shark, the largest fish species in the world. As the shark's lower back was wounded with a broken lower jaw, a marine expert estimated that the shark suffered a serious injury before it was spotted by the cargo ship. The shark will be on display at the Shenzhen Ocean World. Copyright XINHUA NEWS AGENCY
