ATOMIC RADIUS

quick ionic radius
Which one has a larger atomic radius K+ or Ar ? I would think that it would be K+ since thats the way the general trend goes, but Cl- is larger than k+ , which makes me think that Ar is larger. PLEASE HELP!!

we were able to determine both the general crystal structure (body-centered) of iron, as well as the radius of the iron atom. Konrad did a great job in putting his material together, and he explained it well, too.

Chem Notes Vol 2
Nonbonding atomic radius is how we define how close another atom can come to each other before bonding. Bonding atomic radius is the area to atoms must intersect in order to bond in a reaction; Atomic radius allows us to estimate the
Do nuclear reaction rates depend on environment?
The basic objection against the Debye model is that the thermodynamical treatment of electrons as classical particles below the atomic radius is in conflict with the basic assumptions of atomic physics. On the other hand,
atomic structure
ie1<ie2<ie3 because when an electron is removed from a neutral atom, the repulsion among the remaining electrons decreases and the atomic radius also decreases - so more energy is needed to remove the next electron from the

It is very difficult to imagine the boundary of a universe, but even if we imagine a fixed number for it then it has been found that our universe is expanding. The red shift from the Doppler effect indicates that our universe

Magnetic Needles Turn Somersaults: Researchers Discover New Possibilities For Magnetic Storage Science Daily
Scientists at the Max Planck Institute of Metals Research in Stuttgart have discovered a new mechanism with which it is possible to use weak magnetic fields to reverse tiny magnetic structures, called vortex cores, quickly and with no losses. Up until now, very strong magnetic fields have been necessary to accomplish this, requiring highly complex technology. The new method might open up new

Magnetic needles turn somersaults PhysOrg
For about ten years now, tiny magnetic structures measuring a few millionths of a millimetre have met with growing interest from the worlds of science and technology, particularly on account of their potential applications in magnetic storage. A fascinating quantum mechanical phenomenon occurs in these structures: the vortex core, which has been predicted in theory for forty years, but which

New skis = shorter, wider, easier to handle Boston Globe
The question comes up every year. Is it time for new skis? The answer used to be found in the number of days the old skis had survived. Depending on the level of use (kids on bumps can destroy a pair in short order), a pair of skis can be good for at least 100 days. With the average skier atomic+radius: atomic+radius
