The George Benson Collection (Warner Bros. 1981)

     Premetto che non é mia abitudine recensire compilation, che giudico anzi deleterie per l'ascoltatore più attento. In questo caso é però necessario parlare di questo doppio album che rappresenta non solo il meglio dei brani incisi da George Benson ma racchiude anche ben quattro inediti non disponibili sui dischi dell'artista. Due sono "Turn your love around" e "Never give up on a good thing", scritte appositamente per questo greatest hits e prodotte splendidamente da Jay Graydon. Gli altri due, cantati in duetto, sono pezzi già presenti in dischi di altri artisti come "Love all the hurt away" contenuto in un album di Aretha Franklin e "We got the love" inserita all'interno del primo lavoro da solista di Chaka Khan. Da notare anche la versione in studio di "The greatest love of all", precedentemente incisa solo in versione live nell'album "Weekend in L.A.".
     Da comprare per chi vuole veramente possedere tutto di George Benson.
