Marcel Schot (bass trombone). He comes from the Netherlands and he is working manly in the dutch bigband scene.
His roots are on the tenor trombone with a classic and brassbanding
backround. Later he switched to the bass trombone and got inspired and took
lessons from, Erik van Lier, Ben van Dijk, Phile Teele and Bill Reichenbach.
At this moment he is the regular bass trombone player with the Holland
Bigband and the Amsterdam Jazz Orchestra.
In 2005-2006 he was a substitude for the dutch Lion King production and
played over 50 shows.
Next to his playing activities he is the manager and brass repairer at one
of the oldest brass shops in the Netherlands, Atelier Pfeiffer in Rijswijk.
He has been considered as a Dutch authority of brass repairs, especially for
the trombone.
