VHF - Very High Frequencies
It is the frequency range going from 30 MHz to 300 MHz, where we find,
in Italy, two
ham bands,
broadcasting in FM,
TV and many other kind of communications.
Local ham QSO are done in
FM, also via
repeaters, while in
DX activity
SSB is used most often.
DX in this bands are done via tropospheric
propagation, or
sporadic E.
Also MS and
EME are done mainly in these bands. Many
amateur satellites use these frequencies
as input or output of their transponders.
