This is not the full translation of our website, but only a brief excerpt to help our English-speaking foreign friends who are planning a trip to Italy and want to know something on sailing in Varazze.
The town of Varazze is located on the western Ligurian Riviera. It can be reached easily by motorway, while ferries leave Genoa and Savona, respectively a few kilometres west and east of Varazze, towards Corsica and Sardinia. You can find the Varazze Club Nautico as soon as you step in the Varazze tourist harbour (see map clicking on sede; in the main menu).
We are certainly not a big club, but we can ensure you that almost all our members are sailing enthusiasts. Some of them took part in the Olympics in the'50s and '60s. The club owns some centreboard boats, i.e. Optimist, Lasers, 420s and 470s, while other centreboards and sailing yachts are privately owned. You will also find some vintage boats, such an 8 meters keelboard which dates back to1927, as well as locally built fishing boats equipped with latin sails, which take part with excellent results in regattas for their category.
As the space is limited, we cannot ensure you that we can host your boat for a few days if you pass through. However if you come to Varazze, we will be pleased to see you and who knows, perhaps to spend some hours together at sea!
