Wat Mahawan in Thaphae Rd is thought that this temple dates back to the 17th century to the time of the Burmese occupation of La Na and as a result, the temple has a strong Burmese influence. The chedi is also of Burmese design.

The temple dates from the Burmese occupation in the 17th century. Although many of the temple buildings were constructed more recently such as the western viharn - they show Burmese features. The eastern viharn is however typically Lanna with an interior displaying murals of local scenes and of Buddha ashe gained enlightenment.
