D 80 and Micro lens
I intend to buy a Nikon D80 soon and am wondering if my Micro Nikkor-P auto 1:35f=55mm would fit and work on the new camera (the lens is a left over from my FT2 days any advise would be appreciated

Someone above suggested buying a D40 instead. Forget about it, I can't find anything compelling about this new entry level camera. Go for the D80. I think that, with a limited budget, you're on the right track

I think your statement "compose by moving the camera" is a little outdated and just not sensible with today's zooms. I also disagree with a class making students use only one prime lens. I think this approach was fine 20 years ago when

You learn to compose by moving the camera and you have the advantage of being able to work in much lower light than with a kit lens. And they have to abandon the fully automatic modes as well and use Aperture mode where the photographer

i bought my d80 with a kit lens 18-70 because it was only 20.000 yens more expensive (i think is about 200 dollars) and also because it was my first reflex digital camera and i had no other lenses. the salesman in the shop recomended me
