Gli U2 sono stati nominati in due categorie alla 49 edizione dei Grammy Awards che si terranno l'11 febbraio a Los Angeles. Queste le categorie: Best Pop Collaboration with Vocals (One w/ Mary J Blige) e Best Rock Performance By A Duo or A Group with Vocal (The Saints Are Coming w/ Green Day).

17/11/06 Rocking in the Free World with Pearl Jam (u2.com)
Bono e Edge sono saliti sul palco con i Pearl Jam stanotte, per il concerto 'Make Poverty History' a Melbourne. Insieme hanno suonato il pezzo di Neil Young 'Rocking in the Free World'.
Il prossimo mese i due gruppi saranno di nuovo insieme sul palco, quando i Pearl Jam si uniranno agli U2 durante la data finale del Vertigo Tour a Honolulu.

Adam Clayton ha confermato che l'anno prossimo si sposerà con la compagna Susie Smith. Ha inoltre afferamto che la band al termine del Vertigo Tour, si chiuderà in studio per registrare il nuovo album e per preparare il nuovo tour mondiale del 2008.
