The band was born in Venice in Summer '96 on the will of Francesco Lupi (guitars),
Lorenzo Marchello (bass) and Daniele Valseriati (drums), preciously enforced by Giovanni
"Tragos" Maffeis (vocals) and Carlo Salvoni (keyboards). After some live gigs Tragodia
were ready to enter the studio to record their first promo-tape. Known as
Promo '97,
it contained the song
With the Feeble Flame of Passion, then re-recorded for
the forthcoming demo-tape. During '98 the band delivered its new material on stage for a lot of concerts,
until the guys entered Scorpion studios again:
Dramas in Splendent Realms ,
the 30 minutes long demo-tape, took form in April and then was released in July. Composed by 4 tracks + intro
& outro of magniloquent keyboards-oriented gothic-metal (we call it NEO GOTHIC METAL), it has sold over 500 copies nowadays
(it's been reprinted now). After the demo's release Tragodia left to take part of a metal fest in
Ioannina (Greece). After that the band made several live apparitions in the North of Italy (about 40 concerts).
Some of these concerts gave Tragodia the opportunity to play in front of 1000-1200 people (Deskomusic '97 &
Deskomusic '98) or to support well-known Italian bands (Mortuary Drape, Even Vast, etc.), making also apparitions
in important metal fests (Metal Explosion '97 & Metal Explosion '99). Then the band decided to become a sestet
by adding a 2nd guitar player, Marco Plati. So, 2002... A new opus is released:
All Our Miseries, a self-produced Mini-CD
recorded at Elfo Studio in Agazzano (Piacenza). Five tracks for a total running time of 30 minutes, in a
full-color professional package of decadent NEO GOTHIC METAL. While looking for a label interested in
producing its music, the band is writing tons of new material...So what's next???
