BTW: A 17" LCD will give you about the same viewing area as your 21" CRT. Only significant difference is you won't be able to fry an egg on top of the monitor case any more. :-

The 17" flat screen has 17" viewable and an inch is not that big of a deal, thats what the zoom command is for. the crt monitors are really bad on your eyes, the refresh rate on the crt's mimicks the human blinking so you tend to not

I work for a large company that has forced their CAD facility Management team to go from 21" (19-3/4" diagonal) CRT's to 17" (17" diagonal). I tried to prevent the downgrade before the switch and now we're working on a post fix.
