| Lo hobbit Frodo riceve da suo cugino Bilbo un misterioso anello che permette di diventare invisibili. Ma il loro comune amico Gandalf il Grigio, un potente stregone, lo mette subito in guardia dal potere oscuro legato all'anello e gli intima di distruggerlo gettandolo all'interno del Monte Fato. Frodo e i suoi compagni affrontano un lungo e pericoloso viaggio per salvare il mondo dalle forze dell'oscurità scatenate dall'oscuro Signore Sauron, deciso ad impossessarsi dell'anello. Senza soffermarsi sull'impatto che il romanzo di Tolkien ha avuto non solo sul genere fantastico, ma su tutto l'orizzonte culturale del secondo '900, il merito di Peter Jackson è quello di aver aderito al romanzo con un tale spirito di devozione "tolkeniana" da dirigere un vero tributo al maestro inglese, nonostante le inevitabili modifiche. |
