The rambling tour of Rome, carried out by circling the town along and around its Highway Ring, is an action completed in 1995. For the very first time, the name "Stalker" was used with the aim of identifying and declaring the group’s existence.
Before this, two other important operations had seen the involvement of Stalker’s present members, along with a large number of friends whom, in the light of their interests, experiences and affinities, we still consider as precious flankers.
VIVILERIVE. The first of these operations took place in July 1993, on the right bank of the Tiber, between the Marconi bridge and Lungo Tevere dei Papareschi.
For a whole week the area has been occupied to create an unauthorized garden, featuring tens of architects artists and above all, the inhabitants of the area, taken up with the effort of liberating that snatch of Tiber from urban decay and private interests.
The following year, on the same river and the same area, the experience has been repeated under the Bridge of Industria. "AL-QUANTARA — the city of the bridge across the river" — has been an even more rich experience of involvement and participation. Installations, cinema, theatre and even a lido have been established, engaging hundreds of people.
The evidence of those weeks of urban utopia is gathered in two booklets, one has been produced independently, the other, which is related to the theatre experience, has been carried out for Stampa Alternativa.
