La figura della maternità forse è, fra tutti gli altri soggetti, quella più cara all'artista. Egli ne ha dipinte una grande quantità ma, per i motivi spiegati altrove, non sono state inserite tutte nella monografia.
Le immagini di maternità sono dipinte a vari livelli di delicatezza, di intimità, di grande potenza drammatica, di grande speranza per il futuro, di romanticismo, di primitività; vi è anche una doppia maternità.

In tutte le opere c'è una sottile malinconia accentuata dai colori morbidi e, allo stesso tempo, luminosi e intimi. L'umanità dell'azione, che si svolge in ogni dipinto, avviene con gran passionalità e sensibilità che sono le emozioni che muovono l'artista in ogni sua azione.

  NOTES to the CHAPTER "Motherhood"

 The figure of the motherhood perhaps is, among all the other subjects, the dearest to the artist. He has painted a lot of them but, for the motives elsewhere explained, they were not inserted all in this monograph.
The images of motherhood have been painted with different levels of delicacy, with intimacy, with strong dramatic power, with great hope for the future, with romanticism; there is also a double maternity. The nocturnal nostalgy,up to the tragic enucleation of maternity. In every work there is a thin melancholy emphasized from the soft colors and, at the same time, bright and intimate. The humanity of the action, that unwinds in each painting, happens with great passionateness and sensibility, feelings which move the artist in every his action.
