NOTE AL CAPITOLO "OPERE ASTRALI"

Questa ricerca pittorica è stata realizzata in poche opere; esclusa qualcuna, sono tutte quelle qui riportate. Il motivo della piccola quantità è stato d' ordine economico. Infatti, nel 1960/61 l'artista era in brutte condizioni. Questi dipinti sono stati realizzati a rilievo applicato su tela, con un procedimento inventato dall'artista, e poi colorato. In pratica si tratta di una scultura dipinta. I materiali usati avevano ed hanno un costo elevato e quindi l'esperimento si è concluso con poche tele.

Questo periodo, ideato nel 1960/61, chiamato da lui "Pittura Astrale", rappresenta l'universo con le sue galassie e corpi celesti e ciò prima che il russo J. Gagarin andasse nello spazio e si pensasse all'esplorazione del sistema solare, concetto che allora era ritenuto solamente fantascienza.

L'artista ha saputo rappresentare il vuoto dello spazio che ci circonda. La sensazione d'infinito e di solitudine che genera tale visione spinge alla meditazione e alla concentrazione.

La spirale che è l'elemento principale delle composizioni è anche, in realtà, la struttura della maggior parte delle galassie. Infine ha voluto comunicarci l'emozione dello scontro far due galassie (che in realtà avviene solamente fra le particelle più piccole che le costituiscono), o la violenza di meteoriti quando attraversano l'atmosfera.

NOTES to the CHAPTER "ASTRAL WORKS"

This search of painting was realized in few works; excluded someone, they are all here included. The reason of the small quantity of that has been of economic order. In fact, in 1960/61 the artist was in bad economic conditions. These paintings have been realized embossed applied on canvas, with procedure invented from the artist, and then colored. Practically it is a painted sculpture. The materials used had and have an elevated cost and therefore the experiment ended with few paintings.

This period, conceived in 1960/61, called from him "Astral Painting," represents the universe with galaxies and celestial bodies and that before the Russian J. Gagarin went in the space and before thinking of the exploration of the solar system, concept then had considered science fiction only.

The artist was able to represent the empty of the space that surrounds us. The feeling of infinite and of loneliness that gives birth to this vision pushes to the meditation and to the concentration.

The spiral that is the principal element of the compositions is also, really, the structure of the best part of galaxies. Finally he wanted to communicate to us the emotion of the collision between two galaxies (that really happens only among the smaller particles that constitute them),or the violence of meteorites crossing the atmosphere.
