01 Arrival - Kunming
(Dinner included) Arrive in Kunming, transfer to
Cuihu hotel**** for check-in. Drive to the Western
Hills followed by a 10 minute chairlift ride up the hill.
From the top a path winds down the famous "Dragon
Gate" (40 minuts in trekking). On the way to the

Upon arrival visit the Three Pagodas, stand in the

north west of Dali, Butterfly Spring, this is a pond of 50
square metres lying at the foot of Yunnong Peak 28 km from
the ancient Dali and Museum, Zhou Chen Bai's Tie-Dye
Workshop .
After lunch, visit and trekking in Bai House Style at
Xizhou, the Old Town, take the boat trip on Erhai Lake,
fresh water lake on the Yunnan-Guizhou Plateau and enjoy

Dali

Western part of Yunnan Province, most of Baoshan falls
within a tropical or even subtropical zone. It includes one

It was once the vital commercial link of the ancient
southwest silk road. Visits: the temple of the

kilometres around Tengchong. Then visit the Heshun
village(the first Overseas Chinese Town in China), and a

Breakfast Drive from Tengchong to Mangshi, Mangshi is
the capital of Dehong Dai and Jingpo Autonomous Prefecture,
a place of mysterious Buddhist temples and gold pagodas,
homeland of the peacock and " sea of songs and dances
", a pearl on Yunnan's western border . Visit
the Tree Pagoda, Yunyan Temple, It was built in 1947 to
conquer the water demon and to prevent flooding, wars and
diseases. Within the group, there is a 20-metre-high main
pagoda and 40 small ones, all in corn shape, City

Mangshi - Ruili (Breakfast, lunch and dinner included)
Breakfast Drive to Ruili, Capital of the
subtropical frontier county of Ruili, Ruili Town lies on the
east bank of the golden Ruili River, Whence comes her name.
People call Ruili "the foggy town". In winter, she
wakes up under a blanket of fog. In the afternoon, when the
sun had burned away the fog, the streets swarmed with women
in their bright parasols held over their heads. At a local
market along the main street, Dai women offer slices of
watermelon for sale and colorful silks and yarns.
Visit the virgin forest, One Tree Forest, Hansa Temple,
Dadenghan Dai Village. After lunch at local restaurant,
visit Jiegao Boundary Economic Zone. Then visit night market

Ruili - Mangshi - Kunming (Breakfast,

Pagoda, four km from Ruili. The pagoda group is composed of
17 pagodas. The largest is 39.5 metres high with golden
bricks decorating on the facade. The 16 smaller ones are
also painted golden. This
is one of the most famous Buddhist pagodas in Southeast
Asia. After lunch, transfer to the airport for flight

which is one of the deepest canyons of the world. Wedged
tightly between titanic cliffs, the Yangzi river is so
narrow here, so legend tells us, that a hunted tiger made
his escape to the other side of the river in a single bound.
Lunch at local restaurant In the afternoon, stop at the
village of the Stone Drum where you will have a look at the
first great bend of the Yangtzi River. The
approach of Stone Drum offers a dramatic view of the
Yangtsi's near 180 degree turn where the water performs a
grandiose about face. For nearly 20 km the river, first
flowing south, then north, runs parallel to itself. Locals
say if it were not for their village standing guard at the
bend, China would lose the water of the Yangtzi to southeast
China, like that of the not too far away Mekong and Salween

mountainsides, the farm plots look like an unending flight
of stairs, now hugging the waist of mountain, now ascending.
The nearer to the town of Yunanyang, the more picturesque
the terrain fields become. From the lay of the terrain, one
can tell how steep the original mountains were, what
Herculean efforts the local people must have made in
combating nature.
Each group of terraced fields looks
unique in its own way. At a cross-road in Shengcun Village,
there is a long string of exquisite terraced fields. The
fields at Jinzhuzhai in Tuanjie Township are fringed with
distinctive lines, forming a well-conceived pattern. Those
in search of all-encapsulating, imposing views of terraced
fields should go to Bada Village or Malizhai in Shengcun
Township, where the terraced fields lie cheek by jowl in an
spellbinding fashion. After
25 centuries of hard work, the local Hani people have turned
