SBA-NDO history

The band started in Padova in 1981 with this line-up: Stefano (drums) Gianfranco (guitar) Nuccio (bass) Iccio (vocals). Stefano and Nuccio played in another punk band before: NAPALM CONTINGENT (one of the early punk band in Padova, that started in 1978).

The first SBA-NDO songs were DAMNED covers but sung in a "false English", 'cause the first singer didn't know English. After some months Iccio (vocals) has been replaced by Zaccaria.

With this line-up they wrote their first songs with italian lyrics. They usually played a lot of gigs in Padova and in the near cities. They have been the first band to play a gig at Social Center "NUVOLA ROSSA" (the first social center/squatt in Padova).

One of the most interesting gig was in Cadoneghe (Padova) in 1982 as support for Jo Squillo (JO SQUILLO ELETRIX). Their complete live set has been recorded. They've played with another well known italian band: KAOS ROCK.

Every week, the supporters of the band organized parties/gigs to let SBA-NDO play.

At the end of 1982, Maurizio (Grillo Records) asked to the band to record two songs for an italian compilation called "ST. ANTHONY'S FIRE" LP (1000 copies printed), that went out in 1983.

To support the compilation through "RAI STEREO NOTTE", a well known italian show, "Inedia" (one of the SBA-NDO most loved song) was played. Nuccio left the band and he has been replaced by Guido (ex ZIPP bass player).

Even if the band has played many gigs and a lot of people has always loved/supported them, at the end of 1984 the band has split up.
