Fripp entra sul palco con la sua chitarra alle 20.45 tra l'indifferenza
generale... ci sono ancora dei ritardatari che stanno sistemandosi nel
parterre, e chicchierano tra loro... quasi sembra un tecnico del suono
che sta sistemando gli ultimi ritocchi sull'impianto... ed invece per
Fripp il concerto è come introdotto dai suoi soundscapes, ottenuti con i
suoi tipici effetti alla chitarra... dopo circa 15 minuti, lascia dei
suoni in sottofondo e va via... la band al completo entra solo alle
21.15, salutati da un lungo applauso. E i suoni dei soundscapes si
fondono nell'intro del primo brano "The power to believe I".
A powerful concert
yesterday evening in Rome, Foro Italico. Robert Fripp always in the
dark, on the right side of the stage, without spots and no lights on him.
The other guys (Gunn, Mastellotto, Belew) were excellent and very
friendly with the audience. At the end of the concert Fripp was out of
the stage without cheering the audience, no thanks, a very awful person
with mind troubles, these were the thoughts in the crowd... Anyway my
recording was fine!
