On the warm evening of the day of the solemn canonization of the "Consoler of Naples "I am happy to offer to the many devotees of our dear Saint, the fourth edition of this brief book on the life of Egidio Maria of S. Giuseppe. The book was first published in 1958 and it was a success among the Neapolitan people. The story of the life of the Franciscan Saint was written by Father Pierbattista Juliucci who died some years ago. I hope that the story will help people find the way of holiness; the same way which was followed by the child of Taranto and Apostle of Naples: Saint Egidio. May Saint Egidio look at all of us with benevolence and may he give to us the strength to build a new society founded on the Christian values that are a precious inheritance of our long history.
