The
Angel and the Bag-Lady
Sleepin' by the church
dreamin' of a time gone by
Anyone could ever see her
No-one would ever care
...Then came a stellate
night
"Molly?",
someone called her name
Her own name...she had
nearly forgotten
In front of her...it was
an Angel face
"Just another
dream", she thaught
and tried to sleep again
"Molly?", the
voice repeated
gentler than a silver rain
The Angel said:
"Lite the incence up
then let your thaughts
fade away",
that's what the Angel said...
...So she did
And suddenly she was free
So free...
...like never before
The Angel and the
Bag-Lady
they've come a long way
tonight
and it's still a long
way for them to go
to reach out to their
High Destination
The Angel and the
Bag-Lady
they've flown over
chimneys tonight
look hard...over
mountain tops
maybe you'll see them
for a moment:
a fine pair...that's
soon disappeared
Molly opened up her eyes
in the night
she look'd straight to the
Angel...in his blue eyes
She said: "I'm tired,
beyond my years I'm tired
Tell me, is there...anywhere
a Tramp's Paradise?"
"Tell me, please...",
she repeated
"Tell me,
please..."
- the Angel smiled -
..."Lite the incence
up
then let your thaughts
fade away",
that's what the Angel said...
..."Just lite the
incence up
then let your ghosts fade
away",
that's what the Angel said...
...And Molly...she
suddenly felt
sleepy
Didn't notice when she
closed her eyes
The Angel and the
Bag-Lady
they've come a long way
tonight
and it's still a long
way for them to go
to reach out to their
High Destination
...While a far-away
bagpipe melody
fills the air
and fades...with the Night
The Angel and the
Bag-Lady
they've flown over
chimneys tonight
look hard...over
mountain tops
maybe you'll see them
for a moment:
a fine pair...that's
soon disappeared
somewhere beyond the
horizon line
to Tramp's Paradise...
