The guys are in a very little studio in London, live for MTV Select Italia, and the presenters are Giorgia and Marco... the interview is full of linguistic incomprehensions!
MARCO: Hey... Welcome!!! Westlife!!! WL: Heeeeeey! Hello! Thank you! MARCO: Sono tantissimi, sono molto colorati... I'm saying that you are really colourful... (Our guys are all dressed in black) WL: Oh yeah! MARCO: How are you doing? WL: Very well! GIORGIA: Can you please say just a word... 'MTV day'. The guys show no reaction... GIORGIA: ...like a chorus...'MTV day'. Shane, Bryan and Kian say 'MTV day' looking at the camera, while Mark and Nicky are still thinking about what they have to do :) GIORGIA: It's a password! KIAN: Ahhhhhh... OK... ha ha! GIORGIA: It's the birthday of MTV Italy, and we are gonna go to Italy for a little bit... a little... a big party. It's the second birthday of MTV Italy. KIAN: Oh excellent!
GIORGIA: Why are you dressed in black? NICKY: 'Cause the studio is so blue... Shane starts laughing! He was in a very happy mood that day! :) :) KIAN: When we finish here, we are gonna straight to do a show, and we haven't got time to change. GIORGIA: Ah... OK! Giorgia and Marco makes a long translation... and the guys mumble something... 'cause they don't understand what the presenters are saying, and so they laugh together!
MARCO: Where did you all meet? Are you all friends and really close to... SHANE: Myself, Kian and Mark met about one... no... well... we've known eachother for long time, but we made a band about one year and a half ago, we eventually met Boyzone's manager Louis Walsh, and then we met Bryan and Nicky in Dublin a year ago. Marco translates... and he talks with Giorgia for a while in Italian, and so... KIAN: This is very unfair 'cause we don't understand what you're saying! GIORGIA: Aaaaaah... MARCO: Yeah, we just translate completely different words! GIORGIA: Say everything else... Everybody laugh, except for Nicky who is thinking... NICKY: 'We absolutely hate Westlife' and... MARCO: Nooooo... not at all! The guys laugh, the presenters are translating. GIORGIA: How comes Westlife? BRYAN: Because we come from the west of Ireland and the west of Europe! GIORGIA: Ok... west west west... SHANE: We are the west, they are the east of the band... wild wild wild west!!! BRYAN: They are the west of the band, me and Nicky are the life of the band!!! Shane laughs!!! Translation.

GIORGIA: What about your name, 'cause we know that apart from your normal name, you have a nickname... something like... Spice Girls... but you don't want to reveal us. They don't seem very happy to hear this question... MARCO: We know it... we know it... well, we don't know... NICKY: My name is 'Brad Pitt Spice'!!! Shane laughs loudly!
MARK: I'm ****** (?!? Please listen the mp3 file, and tell us what he says! We can't understand it!) The guys laugh a lot... but Marco and Giorgia can't understand and Giorgia says in Italian... GIORGIA: Loro ridono perchè non capiamo! (They laugh 'cause we don't understand!)
KIAN: 'Homesick Spice' (he seems a bit angry for the guys' behaviour... they are very cheerful!!!) MARCO: Oh gli manca casa... when you are alone, you... you... no, not alone, but when you are on tour you want to see your home *__* *__* Everyone is looking at him, and they all look astonished! SHANE: I'm the 'Country Spice', country like a country boy... BRYAN: Wild boy... BRYAN: I'm 'Fatty Spice'... Shane laughs sooooooooo much! And Giorgia and Marco can't but laugh too!
KIAN: I'm 'Blondie Spice'... Bryan turns to Shane and he tells him... BRYAN: 'Bleached Spice' !!! :) :) Shane is really beside himself!!!! He starts laugh loudly, very loudly! Bryan opens his mouth, and he looks very happy for his witty remark! Kian is a bit strange... he doesn't laugh... as if he hasn't understood what Bryan has just said! Mark asks to Shane: MARK: What's that? And Shane points at Bryan saying: SHANE: 'Bleached Spice'! Mark mumbles something incomprehensible, and both Bryan and Shane laugh!
MARCO: I'm 'Blondie Spice' as well... bleached... smell... GIORGIA: Nooo!
MARCO: How is Ronan Keating? MARK: He's fine! MARCO: Is he? Shane... then Bry... then Mark have great laughs! GIORGIA: Like a boss, we mean! MARCO: Is he alright? He lets you do all your stuff... KIAN: He cares... NICKY: He's like a friend, he gives great advices, but he also listens to what we have to say.
MARCO: Can you introduce your video? Who wants to be a vj? WL: Me! Me! NICKY: If I Let You Go! Ah! But Shane more seriously... SHANE: Here is our video If I Let You Go! NICKY: In shops now!
After the video, everyone clap their hands... GIORGIA: The studio is too small to dance! KIAN: We try... we try! GIORGIA: A...a...a.. another question, pleeeeease! (Shane does his best to stop himself from laughing in front of her!) You... have... signed a contract (the one about the fact that they can't get married and have children for the next five years)... WL: No, no, no! KIAN: It's not true, no!
MARCO: Do you have girlfriend, all of you? Italian girls want to know it! Mark points at Nicky... NICKY: Me! GIORGIA: Only one? Oh my God! Marco is translating, and Kian seems very curious... KIAN: Sorry, what are you saying? So... they translate again for Kian... GIORGIA: ... available! MARK: Italian girls are beautiful! Beautiful! (with a very sexy voice!!!) SHANE: Yeah! (THANK you, Shane!!!! You're so sweet!!!!) NICKY:
Italian food is beautiful as well! BRYAN: We are gonna go to search when we go to Italy! Giorgia has a great laugh. MARK (speaking to Giorgia!): Where in Italy do you come from? GIORGIA: Mar... eh... I'm from Milan! Have you ever been in Milan? MARK: Yes, we've been in Italy few times. GIORGIA: Are you coming back for tour or promotion? Bryan eats something, probably a mint! :) :) KIAN: Promotion for the album. GIORGIA: When! When!!! SHANE: October, November! (Dear Shane, you're a liar!!! You haven't been here since last June when you supported Boyzone! And we're still waiting for you! ) GIORGIA: Where about? SHANE: Milano, Roma... BRYAN: ...and Bologna (what a good pronunciation, Bry!!!) MARK: We went to a party last time we were in Milan... Dolce&Gabbana party!
GIORGIA: Thank you very much! MARCO: Thanks a lot! GIORGIA (pointing at Bryan!): Have you chosen a video? BRYAN: JK! SHANE: Jamiroquai! And Shane, Mark and Bry start dancing (not moving from their seats!), while Marco is singing 'Supersonic'! MARCO: Do you want to dedicate it to someone? BRYAN: To JK! MARCO: And to your fans in Italy! MARK and Nicky: ... and to everybody at home! WL: Bye bye! BRYAN: Ha ha! |
