Record breakers

It's huge hit number five for Westlife

Westlife stormed in at No1 with Fool again - their record-breaking fifth chart-topper.

It looked like Mel C was going to spend a second week at the top after a deflated Westlife were No2 in the CD:UK chart.

Kian was stressed-Life all week. I'd do anything for 'Fool Again' to be No1," he told us. "It's the only one that matters-the big one ."

Bryan revealed the band had been 'nervous and stressed' in the run-up. "All we can do is our best, the rest is up to the fans," he said.

His dream came true when fan power saved the day with a last minute rush to the shops. "It didn't look like we were gonna make it," said Nicky. "We were pleased for Mel C 'cause she's lovely, but we're so happy the waiting is over!"

Westlife were exhausted after their No1 battle. "We've been working hard trying to get out there - every little bit counted. It was worth it" grinned Shane.

But it was Mark who was the calmest 'Loifer. "The main thing is we are having a good time - the number one's a bonus!" he said.
