I gathered information mainly over the Internet and I decided to implement a two stages solid state solution suggested by Motorola Corporate in their very interesting Applications Notes. Please refer to Applications Note AN758 and to the official Motorola WEB site for any more information about how to design and build such amplifier. At the moment all components are available on my desk, including four expensive hi-power Motorola transistors, and the building process has been started. A metal case of an ancient Personal Computer Olivetti M24 has been used to contain the SSPA. as Several months of huge work are predicted. Moreover, an external, homemade, 48V, 50A, heavy duty power supply has been projected and built.
