Chiara, yesterday evening I have seen the rainbow…..!!!

Here, at Zante, yesterday and before yesterday it was rainy a lot but in the evening came the sun and the wind and suddenly the clouds began to disappear, not all of then but all the necessary to allow to see a beautiful complete rainbow …then it was coming into my mind a piece of a song:

"ma l'amore mi dà coraggio per dirti che da quando io ti ho visto é sempre maggio e a maggio il mondo é bello e invitante di colori …"

…then I begin to think about the colours of May, the colour of the spring and the rainbow. I though that with this mail I should have been given you some explanations about the "striscione" and the subject "affacciate alla finestra …", but I saw the rainbow, and suddenly I have changed my mind and decided to write about colours and what they mean to me and in this way – only for this time – I begin this message greeting you saying:

Hello "Shiny Rainbow",

…how are you? I hope everything is Ok…! by the way what do you think about colours? which one do you prefer? and which one you don’t like at all?

I should said that I like all the different colours as I try to relate each with beautiful things, for example: black could be a bad and sad colour but you need a deepness black to see better the stars shining. In the night, the more black is the sky, the more beautiful are the stars. Did you ever stay some minutes at Malandrone by night watching the sky? sure it is fantastic…!!! I like this colour!

For a lot of people white means "perfection", and with black and white it can be made the most perfect contrast. I like this colour too.

And what do you think about yellow, in Italy when you say "giallo" suddenly you think of something stranger, but yellow is the colour of the sun,…and if you have read my last mail you know what means the sun to me ... maybe I have not explained in a clear way, really, it is too difficult to me to explain all that the sun means to me ... some poets related this colour with the spring too … and spring is nice, isn’t it?

Red for me is like black, I like both … sometimes red seems to me a very strong colour and sometimes weak, I don’t know why the red makes this strange effect to me.

Blue, the colour of the sky, the colour of the see, who can say that it is no a beautiful colour, really it is wonderful…!!!

And brown, the typical colour of wood, maybe wood is the material that I prefer for everything, I think about wood that it’s like a dog, "The best men’s friend", and with wood you can do everything, your house to live in, a boat to sail, tools and fire. Generally when you think of mountains you think of brown too, so for me brown (as green) is the colour of nature…

And green, what do you think about green? you can considered different kind of green, emerald green, light green, dark green, etc… and I like them all. At Corfu island (Kerkira in Greek) there is a fort on the top of a mountain, if you go to the top of the fort, you can see the sea with a lot of different kind of green colours, it can be seen a very very nice emerald green, and an incredible deep light green, the first time that I went there and I saw this sea, I could only though in the colour of your eyes as they have the same...…, there are colours that has no explanation, you cannot define it, you only can enjoy it, watch it, dream it … and you feel that those mix of colours catch your soul and you would like to follow down in the deepness of these colours..…for ever, maybe like the colours of the starlets … white, blue, light green, light blue, sometimes seems yellow and orange (these one are planets that seems stars), every second they change and is marvellous to can see those changed colours. And the rainbow, every body says that has 7 colours but it isn’t the truth as between each of the seven colours there are a lot of other different and this is really beautiful, like you "shiny rainbow" (shiny rainbow, only for today, I don’t know if you like that I call you in this way). I don’t know if you have read up to here, I know that I would like to go on writing, but I suppose too, that you have a lot to do so I will finish here … anyway…

I can see through my window the moon over the sea – the moonlight – I will send you this mail and then I will try to sleep, watching the moon, listening the sea, and thinking of you … Bello … molto bello !!!!
