I primi mesi del 1972 vedono i Pink Floyd impegnati in una lunga tourneé inglese eD in questa occasione utilizzano un nuovo tipo di impianto sonoro quadrifonico estremamente sofisticato e un nuovo light show. " L'idea di spettacolo totale per noi è molto importante e anche se credo che ci sia ancora molto da lavorare, vogliamo continuare a farlo. Riguardo al suono vorrei avere sempre una qualità migliore, perchè l'accerchiamento sonoro del pubblico dipende in larga misura dalla sua resa fedele e più l'attrezzatura è buona, più questa resa è fedele." Clips con questo materiale sarebbero stati trasmessi occasionalmente in televisione e inseriti in video compilations; Careful With That Axe Eugene è stata inclusa anche nel video di 'artisti vari' Superstars In Concert (TelstarTVE 1003).
