05.08.67
- "The Piper At The Gates Of Dawn" released in UK.
The mono featured slightly different mixes of the songs which are barely
noticeable, mainly just stereo separation of the channels. The only two
differences are on Pow R. Toc H., and Interstellar overdrive (different keyboard
intro).
Old woman with a casket/She was a millionaire
(25.07.67)
The follow-up single to “See Emily play” is announced as “Old woman
with a casket” or “She was a millionaire” written by Barrett. Strangely,
neither songs became their next single. “Old woman with a casket, however,
later appeared as “Scream thy last scream”.
More
The movie has Floyd songs scattered throughout the film, most are heard
in fragments. (Total lenght of the soundtrack is 115:00). The exact order of the
songs (and times) that appear in the film is as follows: [Main Theme 1, 3:40,
Ibiza Bar 1, 1:10, Ibiza Bar 2, 0:50, The Nile Song, 1:40, Seabirds, 3:40,
Cymbaline, 5:15), "Jams" (not sure, but it sounds like The Embryo!),
0:40, Party Sequence 1, 2:25, Party Sequence 2, 3:45, Green is the colour, 0:50,
Quicksilver 1, 2:20, Quicksilver 2, 2:20 Cirrus Minor, 0:50, More Blues, 0:30,
Crying song, 2:15, Up the Khyber, 1:00, Main Theme 2, 0:50, Main Theme 3, 0:50,
Main Theme 4, 1:00].
"Seabirds" is an unreleased track and evidently the entire song
(3 verses) is in the movie. Unfortunately, it's played as background music for a
party scene, so one can't hear it too well. The versionof "Cymbaline"
used in the film is different than the version that appears on the album release.
It has two different lines at the end of the first verse, and Roger sings the
song (David Gilmour sings on the LP track!!) The tracks in the film are just nit
and rarely the whole song, but we thought you'd like to know what this rare film
contains. The film premiered on 4/8/69 in New York City. This film was
supposedly never shown in the UK (?).
Chart Information: "More" would get #9 in the UK and #153 in
the USA.

album presents most of what exists in the vaults, and also most of what is in
