Floyd went to Thompson Private Recording Company
in Hemel Hempstead, UK to make test recordings.
Let's

dreadful. (They also supposedly recorded "I Get Stoned", "Interstellar
Overdrive" and "Lucy Lee In Blue Tights").

Syd Barrett demo tapes.
This
was a Syd Barrett solo recording done for Joe Boyd which had some really
cheerful, melodic tunes. One of the tracks was "Boom Tune", which the
Purple Gang were going tp cover. Unfortunately, Mr.Boyd lost this valuable
tape!!! We have no idea about what else was it. (Possibly recorded in the summer
of 1967)

The
Floyd recorded "Interstellar Overdrive", "Let's Roll Another
One", and "Arnold Layne" on this date. "Let's Roll Another
One" would later become "Candy and a Currant Bun", with a few
changes in the lyrics (and meaning).

The
original running order for “Piper” is partly indicated by the library
notation, for the assembled album, done on July 13th. The library card
indicated:
Side
One: Take up thy stethoscope... - 5 titles. Interstellar overdrive, not Take
up... was the eventual opener for side two, and another, unspecified title, was
added to side one to make up six songs. The library card places the LP matrix
number against the above tape, although the one that follows (18.07.67) is the
correct running order, and therefore the true LP master.

Astronomy

was eventually put as track 4, moving Pow R. Toc H. and Take up... down one slot
each)

"Dark
Side Of The Moon" Outtakes recorded, sometime during these June 1972
sessions at Abbey Road Studios.
(15:00,
Time, 6:15, Brain Damage, 3:30, Us and Them, 5;25)
These
different versions had to come at the start of the "Dark Side Of The
Moon" sessions because the songs appear to be finalized by the fall of
1972. The difference in the tracks from the LP versions are as follows:
"Time"
has no guitar solo after the "No one told you when to run, you missed the
starting gun" line. It also has no "Breathe Reprise".
"Brain
Damage" has no background laughter. The line "And if the cloud bursts,
thunder in your ear" has a lead guitar that is not on the record.
"Us
and Them" is not only missing
its distinctive echo but the sax solo by Dick Parry is slightly different.

Mixing
"Shine On you Crazy Diamond".
Syd
Barrett showed at the studio and wandered around for a while. No one recognized
him at first; He swas fat and had his head and eyebrows shaved. He remarked that
the song sounded "rather old"; upon hearing yet another request to
play the song back, he said "Why?, You've already heard it once...".
This was the last time the group seems to recall running into him.
The
group has tried to avoid contact with Syd since supposedly any mention of the
band only deepened Syd's depression.

"The
Wall" Movie Soundtrack recorded.
The
soundtrack from the film varies a great deal from the LP. "When The Tigers
Broke Free" (Part 1) and “When The Tigers Broke Free" (Part 2) were
added to the soundtrack. "What Shall We Do Now?", the full-length
version of "Empty Spaces" is included in the soundtrack as well. Other
differences can be found in the tracks: "In The Flesh?",
"Mother", "In The Flesh", "Stop" and "Outside
The Wall". Also, the songs "Empty spaces”, "Hey You" and
"The Show Must Go On" were cut from the soundtrack. Sound effects were
added throughout the recording. Rick Wright does not appear on the re-recorded
portions of the soundtrack.
