Mr. Hatcher's plays include THREE VIEWINGS, SCOTLAND ROAD, NEDDY, FELLOW TRAVELERS, ALL THE WAY WITH LBJ, NO STRINGS, CONFORT AND JOY, VANDALS, and DOWNTOWN. His adaptation include THE TURN OF THE SCREW, SMASH, BON VOYAGE, ONE FOOT ON THE FLOOR, MISS NELSON IS MISSING!, and PIERRE. Mr. Hatcher work has been presented throughout the United states, as well as Chile, Germany and South Africa. He has participated in the o'Neill Center's National Playwrights' Conference four times and Midwest Playlabs once. A two time recipient of the Minnesota Arts Board Grant and fellow-ship awards from the Jerome Foundation and McKnight Foundation through the Playwrights' Center, Mr. Hartcher was elected New Dramatist in 1992. In 1998, Madison Repertory Theatre received a NEA grant to commission his play WHAT CORBETT KNEW. His most recent plays include SOCKODOLOGY. MOTHER RUSSIA, HANGING LOR HAW-HAW. Mr. Hatcher's book The art and craft of playwriting is published by Story Press. Additionally he has written for Peter Falk television series COLUMBO.
