I guess I never noticed it when I went from 15" to 22". But I use a lot of keyboard shortcuts (if you don't use alt-tab, start) and have my mouse sensitivity and acceleration set pretty high.
Widescreen problem
My guess is that you encoded it as 16x9 WS and that the video is 2.35:1 so the black encoded into the movie is not matching the black the TV (actually the DVD player) is adding when watched on a 4:3 TV. Classic luminance issues with
