Pros

Cons of HCT
PROS
As
any design methodology this technique presents both vantages and
disadvantages. In the following table
I have put together those aspects
emerged during studies:
It’s easy to apply, at least for simple circuits. Advantages are evident with Single Ended amplifiers
A sonic deterioration is not affected
Simple Vacuum Tubes amplifier with “embedded” HCT have both superior electric performances and efficiency
A global (and lateral) thinking effort is requested to the designer
CONS
A
strong dependence exists with respect to both frequency and phase of signal;
therefore a wide band optimization is rarely feasible
It’s sensible to load variations
It’s hard or ineffective to apply in complex designs with multigrid devices
