I MET ZERKA MORENO

The 9th of September I met Zerka Moreno. It was already the third time that

I met her.

The first was in Zurich in the 1973 where, for the Congress of I.A.G.P.

there was also  Jacob L. Moreno, who died in the 1974..


I met her for the second time in Buenos Aires always for a Congress. of I.A.G.P.

This time we were in Bologna in a space of the "Arena del Sole" Theatre for a

meeting of Italian Psychodramatists  and other persons interested at the topic.

She spoke of the theory and of the historical development  of the Morenian

psychodrama. One intervention that particularly interested me was the

proposal to read and live the "Psyche" as something that envelops the person.

And so we can start from the sympathy  and pass trough empathy, sin-empathy

or "tele" and arrive to the others with the telepathy, the premonition, and also

the divination until the frontiers of the universe and God. It is so possible to work

in psychodrama without to much be preoccupied to find the technical and scientific 

aspect, and arrive also to the magic and "sciamanic" that of course are present

in the personal, collective, ancestral, and mythic "Uncounscious".

This capacity is more developed in the mediums and other particularly

enlightened persons.

The second encounter of the day was a psychodrama that she led with 250

persons in the amphitheatre of the "Arena del sole".


In Bologna from two years a group of psychodramatists  with the leadership

of Dr. Andrea Cocchi lead a certain number of session open to the citizens.

This initiative to which participate habitually a great number of persons

has the signification to give the possibility to know the psychodrama

not only as a therapeutical method, but also as instrument for helping

the people interested  to grow up a certain harmony  in the "inner theatre" 

and in the relationship with the others and the universe.

At the first moment Zerka presented an explanation on psychodrama 

in its historical, philosophical and psychological lines and than made

a little but productive warming up to prepare the audience to be able to

work with spontaneity and creativity ,  and to help the eventual protagonist

and the director to run a positive action.

She asked that each one searches by instinct with the eyes

another person for speaking with him or her for a few minutes.

Than she asked for a protagonist.


A mother proposed herself for working on an important problem that she has with

her daughter. I say very briefly what succeeded during the development of the

action. Zerka used an auxiliary ego chose from the mother to impersonate the

daughter, but after a brief exchange of words she refused the ego as inadequate

and  passed to another that was a man. After have worked a large moment with

this person Zerka  asked if in the assembly there was a participant  who

felt the role of the daughter. A girl came out and from that moment the psychodrama

had a very important and cathartic evolution.

The action finished with the mother and the daughter tenderly enlaced.

The last passage was when the mother tenderly crying remained a few minutes on

the knees of the director-mother Zerka Moreno.


It was also very interesting the moment when Zerka after the action proposed

to the girl who impersonated the daughter to walk for a large moment

in the stage for deroling herself from the role lived as the daughter with

great problems..


During the moment of the sharing Zerka asked that the auxiliary egos and

others to express the own feelings and emotions emerged during the session.


There was an intense and magic atmosphere in the theatre.
