| An ancient metal istrument from Asia Minor which spread
in Greece and among the Romans. It had a flat or convex shape, and could be struck
by the hand or by a small hammer. Cymbals were often used in couple, one hit against the other. The Cymbals in modern orchestras originate from them. |
