According to the
legend, Ulderico the bishop of Magonza (Germany), stopped in Ivrea
in an inn, whose owners were in mourning for their childs death, but the bishop
performed a miracle, and the child was alive again. In the same place where the inn was founded, the child, once adult, had a church constructed, and dedicated to the bishop, by that time known as Saint Ulderico. Today we can only see the external part of the bell-tower, completely included in the church front. At different heights there are couples of suspended small arches and pilaster strips that delimitate the window-openings (two single and one mullioned). The material used is brick. |
